Commercial Energy Performance Certificates

A Commercial Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) details (on a scale of A to G, much the same as a new fridge) how energy efficient your building is.

You must have an EPC when:

  • Your business premises are put up for sale or rental

  • A new building is constructed

  • An existing building is altered and the number of separate sections is changed plus the sections used separately and heated, air conditioned or mechanically ventilated

Domestic Energy Performance Certificates

An energy performance certificate is required by law on a number of occasions, the main ones being when a property is being put up for sale or rental.

An EPC will show how energy efficient a property is in relation to certain criteria and it will also explain where improvements could be made.

If made, these improvements will drive down energy bills and help you do your bit for the environment.

Display Energy Certificates

The purpose of introducing DECs is to raise public awareness of energy use and to inform visitors to public buildings about the energy use of a building. DECs provide an energy rating of the building from A to G, where A is very efficient and G is the least efficient and are based on the actual amount of metered energy used by the building over the last 12 months within the validity period of the DEC.
